For the past few months Skankane Transport have been promoting, writing and speaking about the Huis Betlehem raffle tickets. These tickets are sold at R100 at locations across the Nelspruit area.

These raffle tickets is collection money for Huis Betlehem to buy a new vehicle. Huis Betlehem offers a place of safety for children who have been removed by social services due to domestic violence, negligence and other difficult situations. They started with one home in White River and soon their services were needed in Nelspruit as well. Taking in babies as young as 3 months to teenagers up to the age of 18, the house parents act as parents of the home and let the children continue their lives as normal. This means they to do the pajama drill with the little ones, driving kids to their different schools, picking them up for sporting and culture events as well as support them with love and patience. The work Huis Betlehem does goes a long way. The community has been touched by their compassion towards the children.

Huis Betlehem takes in any child from any background, any culture, any race thus the need for a better vehicle. Skankane Trust was started to help the local community and by doing so they have helped not only Huis Betlehem but their other charities as well. The raffle tickets are selling like hot cakes and just a R100 and some businesses have accepted a challenge to buy up whole ticket books.
